You may need to check that the object that you have added is visible in the conditions you have (moon, light pollution etc.) Try setting the difficulty column to ignore difficulty and see if the object shows up. Also check how many of the objects in the list are visible (look at the bottom of the plan it will say xxx out of yyy objects visible)
