The NEA 2017 TE2 made its close approach on 2026-Sep-29 08:52 ± < 00:01 UT at a distance of 0.02113 AU moving with V Relative=13.10 km/sec. Using MPC's elements for the epoch 2026 Oct 12 0000 UT, ST4.1.11.21 Visual Pro predicts that 2017 TE2 reached a peak brightness of 17.8 magnitude on October 1 at ~0600 EDT with the NEA traveling through Auriga at 0.026 AU distance and 34.6"/minute. Close approach was predicted (to the nearest hour) on September 29 at 0500 EDT at a distance of 0.021 AU traveling through Gemini at 18.8 magnitude and 52"/minute.
It was recovered on 2026 Oct 2 at ATLAS-HKO, Haleakala.
