transit of the Sun at the meridian
#1
Hi

I would need to calculate the exact time of the transit of the Sun at the meridian for at least seven days.

Can I use the EPHEMERIDES - Nightly Observing feature like in the screenshot below, column OPTIMUM? Is correct ?

Thanks

Hello Carlo,

It depends on how accurately you need to know it. The optimum time calculation is only accurate to within a minute or two. Maybe a better way would be to use the Nightly Planner. Enable the rise, transit, and set columns. The transit time will be exact. You will need to change the date every day, but I can't think of a better way to do it at the moment.
Clear skies,
