Displaying stars in daytime Finder Chart
#11
Phil,

He posted a screen capture and I explained what is causing this in my reply. I do see it got a bit garbled:

I believe this is a feature of the Pro version that is designed to force some objects to be visible in the eyepiece view, that have no magnitude or size associated with them, and thus the algorithm can't determine if they are visible. Otherwise, there would be no way to find these objects on a chart. An object with a magnitude of 28.8 falls into the category.

OK, but NGC 1975 is mag 7.0 & NGC 1977 is mag 5.8 & they're on the chart too. Just saying. NGC 1976 is the OC associated with M 42. Should it be mag 24.8?

Ok, you are right. Mixed in with the objects that had their visibility "forced" were some oddballs due to a quirk in the way the code works under these weird conditions. They will go away in the next update.

OK, it's no big deal. Way outside of my normal use case Wink.
