I'm not where to best post this as I think it affects all versions and all products... So I've used a general forum.
I need some clarification. I think I know the answer. I think I have already learned the hard way (a few months ago).
STX files are NOT cross-version, right?
I.e. an STX file made in ST4V can not/should not be imported into ST3.
And visa verse, a STX file made in SkyTools 3 Pro for example should not be imported into SkyTools 4 Visual. Right?
There be dragons?
cheers,
Blake

Hi Blake,
Its a backwards compatible thing. SkyTools 4 imports SkyTools 3 .stx files because being newer, it can be backward compatible. But there are technical reasons why it is much more difficult to be forward? compatible.
So
one must not import SkyTools 4 .stx files into SkyTools 3. That could be a disaster. When I get around to an update for SkyTools 3, I will ensure that it refuses to import SkyTools 4 .stx files. I should have had the foresight to build that into SkyTools 3 from the beginning.
Clear skies,

10-4.
Yes, you may recall I destroyed my ST3P config by accidentally importing a STX from version 4 land.
I just built a STX in version 3. I'll load it into 4.
Thanks!
P.S. Have you considered 4-letter extensions?
cheers,
Blake
