Newbe question about binning
#1
I just installed ST4 and have entered the necessary information to start. The list for the deep sky object came up. However, only 1 x binning is shown for all objects. How do I,or can I manually bin the calculation for binning. I would like to use 3 x 3 or 4 x 4.

Thank you

Hello,

The binning is a suggestion on the Target Selection Tool. SkyTools has computed, based on your inputs, that this is the optimum binning to use. With no filters set, this is simply a function of image scale. If you set a target SNR and maximum exposure time filter (to reach that target SNR), then you will see the binning change as necessary to obtain the target SNR in the time allotted.

When you create your imaging project, you can set up any binning you wish, and that will be used when you schedule the project in the scheduler.
Clear skies,
